Re-Root in African History PT 1
Did you go through primary, secondary school and university learning about African History from a perspective that minimized or erased the rich and diverse pre-colonial existence of Africans?
Did you grow up with a silence about your family’s history, African history and the contributions of Black people to the world?
Did you grow up with a negative impression or trivialized perception of everything relating to African culture and heritage? But had a superior perception about everything Western and foreign?
Have you ever wondered why performance in English and French language is the measure of success for many Africans yet neither of these are our indigenous languages?
Are you interested in connecting and being in tune with the wealth of your cultural heritage? while acquiring the language and knowledge to defend yourself and heritage in the face of racism and micro-aggressions?
Do you want to meet and learn with motivated and passionate people who are eager to learn, grow and make the world a better place by infusing the heritage of Africans into global discussion?
If you answered YES to any of the questions above, then RE-Rooting in African History program is for you and you do not want to miss it!

The program was curated with passion and focused rage for formal and civic education reform.
The program brings together the brightest minds from around the world – scholars, practitioners and students to travel through and explore five historical eras: Pre-colonial, Slave trade, Colonialism, Quest for Independence and Post-Colonial (civil wars, military era, journey to democracy and contemporary Africa).
All the classes are virtual and highly interactive. Sessions will be delivered as individualized presentations or panel discussions. In between and at the end of every module, there will be sustained class engagement and guided personal reflection exercises. Prior to classes, learning materials will be made available. At the end of the program, certificate will be issued.
To keep the conversation going, a Whatsapp group will be created to share information and reflections.
